What is holistic health?

Holistic health acknowledges the interconnectedness of our physical, emotional, and mental systems. Holistic health is about caring for the whole person — rooted in the understanding that all these aspects affect our overall health, and being unwell in one aspect affects us in others.

What is Pearlmoon?

Pearlmoon is named for Jenny’s grandmother and daughter, both named Pearl. It is also a symbol of wisdom gained through experience and also an herb used in Chinese medicine to promote luminous skin and peaceful sleep.

What is Ayurveda?

Ayurveda is one of the world’s oldest holistic whole-body healing systems from Eastern India, based on the belief that health and wellness depend on a delicate balance between the mind, body, and spirit. The main goal is to promote balanced, good health, not fight disease.

What is the difference between eastern and western medicine?

Western medicine compartmentalizes our health issues. In Chinese Medicine, we look at the whole person to understand the root of the problem. Once we understand the root and are able to effectively treat this problem, the peripheral symptoms improve.

Why do I need a consultation before my appointment?

For all new clients, a virtual consultation be scheduled prior to the appointment to understand what each client is looking for and the key areas of focus. This will be virtual to limit the in-person time in the studio due to COVID-19.

How does the consultation process work?

  1. A basic assessment where you fill out a questionnaire on your diet, exercise, sleep habits, as well as outline your health history.

  2. Next, you will schedule a one-on-one video conference or phone call so Jenny can get to know you and gain a better understanding of what you are looking to improve in your life.

  3. Jenny will offer a personalized health plan with actionable steps to achieve your goals – ranging from diet, to exercise, to Chinese Herb treatments.

  4. In two weeks, you will check-in to assess how the plan is addressing your needs and she will continue to advise you to reach your best wellness state.
